Mission Statement

MCC Reform Group Limited (MRGL) was incorporated with Companies House on 15th November 2022 to serve as a focal point for the increasing number of Members of the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) who are unhappy with the Club’s Financial Performance, its poor Governance, lack of Accountability and the continuing erosion of Members’ rights and privileges at Lord’s.

The four Directors of MRGL were all elected as Playing Members of MCC with a total of more than 200 years of Membership. We share a passion for cricket, understand the ethos of a cricket club and how the MCC should be governed – first and foremost in the best interests of its Members. This has not happened for at least 25 years, and MRGL intend to enforce change by calling for a Special General Meeting (SGM) in an attempt to re-establish Members rights.

We urge Members to study the details set out in MCC Financial Performance and MCC Governance and Accountability. We encourage all dissatisfied MCC Members to join us as Sponsors of MRGL and become potential SGM Requisitionists to bring about the necessary change in the Club governance structure best suited for a Royal Charter Corporation and the fulfilment of our Mission.

We will be informing the MCC Committee of our intentions and provide our Sponsors with the opportunity to participate as SGM Requisitionists.

Through MRGL we wish to create a sovereign voice for MCC Members to return democracy to Lord’s, to establish the properly elected Members’ Committee first proposed by Sir Scott Baker in his 2002 Report and remove the pernicious influence of the recently introduced NomCo.

MRGL will operate as a not-for-profit organization. The Directors have all agreed to work pro bono and any surplus of income over expenditure will be donated to the MCC Foundation.

We look forward to your support as Sponsors.

Thank you.
